**DECEMBER 5**

DECEMBER 5 - Hosea 1:1–2:23: God commands Hosea to marry a promiscuous woman as a living picture of Israel’s spiritual adultery; names of children signify judgment, yet God promises future mercy, restoration, and an everlasting covenant of love. - Psalm 138:4–6: All the kings of the earth will praise God when they hear His words; though exalted, He looks upon the lowly but knows the proud from afar. - Proverbs 29:17: Discipline your son, and he will give you rest; he will bring delight to your soul. - 1 John 3:1–24: See what kind of love the Father has lavished—making us His children! Purify yourselves as He is pure, love one another in deed and truth, keep His commands (believe in Jesus and love the brothers), and the Spirit assures our hearts.

**DECEMBER 6**

DECEMBER 6 - Hosea 3:1–4:19 - God commands Hosea to redeem his adulterous wife, symbolizing His love for unfaithful Israel despite her idolatry. - Israel is condemned for lacking knowledge of God, rampant sin, and pride; judgment is coming, yet future restoration is promised. - Psalm 138:7–8 - Even in the midst of trouble, God preserves David’s life and defeats his enemies. - The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; His steadfast love endures forever and He will not abandon His work. - Proverbs 29:18 - Without prophetic vision or revelation, the people cast off restraint and perish. - Blessed is the one who keeps God’s law. - 1 John 4:1–21 - Test the spirits: true spirits confess Jesus Christ came in the flesh; God is love and perfect love casts out fear. - We love because He first loved us; loving one another proves God abides in us and His love is perfected in us.

**DECEMBER 7** Hosea 5:1–6:11 • Israel ensnared by idolatry; judgment as moth/lion; false repentance rejected. • God desires mercy, not sacrifice; calls to return—promises revival on third day. Psalm 139:1–6 • God knows David fully: thoughts, words, actions. • Such knowledge too wonderful; inescapable. Proverbs 29:19 • Servant not corrected by words alone; understands but won't respond. 1 John 5:1–21 • Faith in Christ = born of God, overcomes world; commands not burdensome. • Witnesses confirm eternal life in Son; pray for sinners; keep from idols.

**DECEMBER 8**

**DECEMBER 8** Hosea 7:1–8:14 • Israel deceitful like hot oven; mixed with nations, forgets God. • Sow wind, reap whirlwind; forgotten Maker—trust Egypt/Assyria in vain. Psalm 139:7–12 • No escape from God’s Spirit: heaven, Sheol, or uttermost sea. • Darkness no cover; night as bright as day. Proverbs 29:20 • Hasty words worse than fool; little hope. 2 John 1–13 • Walk in truth/love; guard against antichrists denying Christ’s flesh. • Keep teaching, no greeting to false teachers; joy soon face-to-face.

**DECEMBER 9** Hosea 9:1–10:15 - Israel punished for idolatry, facing exile, famine, and rejected sacrifices. - God destroys altars and kings; urges sowing righteousness and seeking mercy. Psalm 139:13–16 - God forms each person wondrously in the womb, knowing them fully. - All life days ordained by God, seeing unformed bodies beforehand. Proverbs 29:21 - Pampering servants from youth breeds insolence later. - Overindulgence leads to arrogant adulthood behavior. 3 John 1–14 - Praises Gaius for hospitality and truth-supporting faithfulness. - Warns of Diotrephes' division; commends Demetrius and good imitation.

**DECEMBER 10** Hosea 11:1–12:14 - God's loving call to Israel from Egypt met with rebellion; He heals but won't fully destroy. - Ephraim's deceit and sins condemned; urges return to God like Jacob's faithfulness. Psalm 139:17–24 - God's thoughts are precious and vast; the psalmist awakes in His presence. - Requests search of heart for wicked ways; lead in everlasting path, hating evil. Proverbs 29:22 - Angry person stirs up strife constantly. - Hot-tempered individual commits many sins. Jude 1–25 - Warns of ungodly false teachers perverting grace; cites historical judgments. - Exhorts building faith, mercy to doubters; doxology to God's eternal glory.

**December 11** Hosea 13:1–14:9 - Hosea 13:1-16: Ephraim’s pride and idolatry bring death; God pronounces total judgment yet hints at future redemption from Sheol and Death (13:14). - Hosea 14:1-9: Tender call to repent; God promises to heal, love freely, and make Israel flourish like lily, olive, and vintage wine. Psalm 140:1–5 - David pleads for rescue from violent, evil men who plot harm and speak poison. - Confident God upholds the righteous and protects the poor against the wicked. Proverbs 29:23 - Pride brings a person low; the humble in spirit gain honor. Revelation 1:1–20 - John receives the unveiled vision of the risen Christ for the churches; Jesus is the sovereign Living One who died and is alive forever. - Glorified Jesus—eyes of fire, voice like waters, face like the sun—touches terrified John and declares: “Fear not…I hold the keys of Death and Hades.”
