This is part of a year long reading of the Bible chronologically in a harmonized format.

Isaiah 43:1 - 44:28

- The LORD who created Israel tells His people, "Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine," promises to be with them through deep waters and fire, calls Israel His witnesses that He alone is God and there is no other Savior, and declares He is about to do something new, making a pathway through the wilderness and rivers in the dry wasteland, and will blot out their sins for His own sake.

- God promises to pour out His Spirit on Israel's descendants, declares He is the First and the Last with no other God, mocks the craftsman who burns half of a tree to cook his food and bows down to a god carved from the rest, says He has swept away His people's sins like a cloud, and names Cyrus as His shepherd who will command that Jerusalem be rebuilt and the Temple restored.

Acts 23:12-35

- More than forty Jews bind themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they have killed Paul and plan an ambush with the leading priests, but Paul's nephew hears of the plot and tells Paul, who sends him to the commander, and the commander tells the young man not to let anyone know he reported it.

- The commander sends Paul to Caesarea that night under guard of 200 soldiers, 200 spearmen, and 70 mounted troops, with a letter from Claudius Lysias to Governor Felix saying the charges concerned their religious law and nothing deserved prison or death, and after learning Paul is from Cilicia, Felix says he will hear the case when the accusers arrive and keeps Paul in prison at Herod's headquarters.
