- After the Lord defeats Moab and Ammon, Judah finds the enemy dead, takes plunder, and returns to Jerusalem in peace. Jehoshaphat later dies. Jehoram kills his brothers and walks in the ways of Ahab.

- Ahaziah is killed with Ahab's house. Athaliah tries to destroy the royal family, but Joash is hidden, crowned as king, and Athaliah is put to death.

2 Corinthians 2:1-17

- Paul explains he did not come again in sorrow, and he asks them to forgive and comfort the one who caused pain so he is not overwhelmed.

- In Troas he had no rest without Titus, and he thanks God who always leads them in triumph and spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Christ.
