Acme Podcasts Inc
Temporada 2
por KaijuEmperor, Lazar J and Jankertonjunker
It's another conversation about shonen anime, as The Boys talk about Yu Yu Hakusho's Dark Tournament Saga. They also talk about reality tv shows of yesteryear, digimon, and they manage some Amphibia upkeep.
Adrian's on again, so it's Jojo time again. Stardust Crusaders, go! Also some talk of Table Top Roleplaying Games and Final Fantasy XIV.
Mecha March comes to an end with The Boys taking a step into Macross by looking at Super Dimensional Fortress Macross and Macross Plus, and forgetting to mention that Yoko Kanno did the music for Macross Plus! There's also technical difficulties, some Amphibia, and a long discussion about the Ducktales (2017) finale.
In this far more cordial second installment of Mecha March, our now calm Boys take a gander at Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team and Escaflowne: The Movie. They also catch up with most of the Upkeep, and Kai falls down the rabbit hole of Final Fantasy XIV.
Lazar J has bad opinions on mech anime, Kai loves mech anime, but they can both agree that Gunpla rule.
Lazar J, KaijuEmperor, and RadicalApollo take a good look at Megas XLR and Motorcity and realize sometimes tastes change and sometimes they don't. Upkeep is finally back and they do a bonus spoilercast for Kid Cosmic.
Lazar J and Kaijuemperor are joined this week by good friend RadicalApollo to celebrate Black History Month by taking a look at Fillmore! and Craig of the Creek. There's, uh, no joke in the description again, huh? Well, they can't all be winners. They also talk about the evolving nature of isekai and the Yakuza game franchise. It's a fun time.
The Boys are joined by good friend and recurring guest KuiperNebula to talk about Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro and Lupin III: The First. I'm sorry, there's no jokes in this description, I'm becoming an old man, just finished editing, it's after midnight, and I'm Very Tired. I have made mistakes this day, and the big one is not starting earlier. In addition to Lupin, The Expanded Boys talk about what might get added to The Upkeep, Long Gone Gultch, some Yu Gi Oh and Professor Layton, and Lazar J watched seven seasons of anime over a two week period. He talked about all seven of them. Some in more detail than others. The week's long this time, skip to around 01:43 to get to the start of Lupin Talk.
Shit happens, years change, and so do plans. The Boys take a look back on their 2020, the show's 2020, and Animation's 2020, play a round of Saturday Morning Pitch, and then take a look at what's coming out in animation for 2021.
Double check the power supply to your pedal board, turn your amps up to eleven, and get ready to rock into this week with the Acme Podcasts Inc. boys, as they take a look at Listeners (2020) and Kacho Oji/The Legend of Black Heaven (1999). Additionally, Lazar J rambles (big surprise) about guitars and The Boys manage the upkeep by looking at the two most recent episodes of Ducktales and then discuss its cancellation and Lazar J's pessimistic outlook on the recently announced Darkwing Duck reboot for Disney+.
