Acme Podcasts Inc
Temporada 1
por KaijuEmperor, Lazar J and Jankertonjunker
The Boys are joined this week by their good friend Radical Apollo to discuss Dorohedoro and Kekkai Sensen (Blood Blockade Battlefront). They also spend some time discussing Craig of the Creek and GTA Online. Kai's week got cut because it turned into a too-long discussion about the PS5 reveal event, and it's getting made into it's own bonus episode going up next week! Be sure to Toon In! Ya, uh, ya see what I did there? Toon? Tune? Eh? Eh? Ah, nuts.
Gird your loins and ready your character sheets, because this week The Boys are delving into two series inspired by table top role playing games: Dungeons & Dragons (1983), and The Slayers (1995). They also catch up on season 3 of Ducktales, and shoot the breeze about Warhammer 40k, Wrasslin', and Kare Kano. Venture forth once more into the breach, this week on Acme Podcasts Inc!
This week the boys, joined by friend of the show KP, head on down to Old Camelot Town and take a gander at The Sword In The Stone and Quest For Camelot. They also polish off talking about Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!, KP played some Dishonored, Kai watched a bit of Cleopatra in Space and read all of Star Impact, and Lazar has a thoughts about what kind of ships he likes, through using Season 2 Episode 7 of Harley Quinn and Season 5 of She-Ra as jumping off points for that conversation. He also watched season 2 of The Hollow. Together they boys finish strong with a full spoilercast of Scoob! at the end of the show.
This week Lazar J and Kaiju Emperor take a look at The Swan Princess (1994) and The Rescuers (1977), which are movies one or the other feels nostalgic about. They also continue their discussion about Duck Tales season 3, and Kai talks about RWBY.
Amidst the terror that is The Rona, our brave podcasters face off against the fiercest of foes: Barbarians! Specifically Conan and Dave. Okay, one of them is fierce; the other is rather friendly and a joy to have around. They also whip up another round of Saturday Morning Pitch, and they discuss the first three episodes of season 3 of Ducktails, as well as episodes 6-10 of The Owl House.
Your Boys, Lazar J and KaijuEmperor continue to try and nail down their format and tighten this up ship-shape by introducing a new segment to the show, and of course tackle two new series this week. Hopefully they find out what it means to be human and try and discern reality from fantasy by discussing Cybersix and The Big O.
L.J. and Kai are joined this week by their friend, K.P. Together they're a group of Dopey Male Sidekicks talking about some Hyper Competent Lady Adventurers with their own Dopey Male Sidekicks (and in Ms. Sandiego's case, Dopey Fraternal Twin Sidekicks). That's right, they're talking about Season 1 of Kim Possible and Season 1 of Carmen Sandiego (2019).
We finish up our look at OK KO: Let's Be Heroes, as well as the oft-overlooked classic Cats Don't Dance. Also, Lazar had a really shitty two weeks.
What is it about people grouping up in teams of three and then getting up to shenanigans that may save the world, or at least each other? It's a thing, Yeah? Samurai Champloo and OK KO: Let's Be Heroes season 2. We also talk about what we're excited for in 2020, but, uh, this was recorded on New Years Eve, so some of this stuff is already out. Have fun.
The hosts who are hopefully growing on you the most head on over to Agrabah to see Al, Jazz, and Gene in Disney's Aladin (the TV series) before heading north to hang out at the polis with Herc and his buddies (again, the TV series), and then finally jump way on forward in time to finish off season one of OK KO: Let's Be Heroes (yet again, the- oh, that's right, there was no movie version of this; I'm looking at you, CN).
