Sixteen people in seven states have been charged with illegal voting, fraudulent voter registration and related crimes, the Justice Department announced Friday. The states: Texas, Idaho, Georgia, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, New Jersey and Michigan. In Texas alone, eight are accused of voting or registering to vote while they were not citizens. In Georgia, prosecutors allege one woman voted nine times between 2008 and 2024 and was not a citizen for any of them. In New Jersey, a defendant is accused of voting in 2018, 2020 and 2024 while allegedly making false statements on a naturalization application.
