Orioles State of the Union
Explícito
Hot on the heels of a 24-2 loss to the Cincinnati Reds on Easter Sunday, Gabe breaks down the current state of the Orioles, and why/where the team is falling short. From injuries to their rotation, bad lineup construction, VERY questionable roster construction, and more. Trust me, you're going to want to listen to this. This is not a happy occasion.
Our Opening Day Experiences, and Early Season Thoughts on the O's and Royals
After a short break for Gabe and Kenji to explore new cities and watch some baseball in person, the boys are back for a recap on each of their Opening Day Experiences (and a life update from Kenji). Kenji talks about his time in Kansas City watching the Royals take on the Guardians while Gabe talks about his time in Toronto watching the Orioles play north of the border. Additionally, they each give thoughts about their respective teams on their first 2 - ish weeks of play.
OUR OPENING DAY SPECIAL EPISODE
Congratulations everyone, we made it. Opening Day is finally upon us. Winter is officially over, and Spring has sprung. In this episode, Kenji and Gabe are celebrating the start of the season with 2 games, 1) What you rather do than go to a White Sox game? and 2) What are your craziest bold predictions leading into the season? This episode is sure to turn some heads and get some quizzical looks, but if your 2 hosts aren't good for that, then what are they good for? Welcome to baseball season everyone. Thanks for being on this journey with us.
Every Starting Pitching Matchup on Opening Day + More
In this episode, Gabe and Kenji go through each and every starting pitching matchup for Opening Day, going by the minute through each start time and each pitcher facing off. Both Kenji and Gabe will be at Opening Day games throughout the country, and neither of them can wait any longer for baseball to be back. From the start of Brewers Yankees at 3:05 PM EST to the finale of Cubs v Diamondbacks at 10:05 PM EST, this is your guide to the pitching matchups. Thanks for listening to the show and riding with us.
Tokyo Series Recap: Roki debuts, Ohtani homers, and the Dodgers start hot
In this episode, Gabe and Kenji are recapping the Tokyo series, including Roki Sasaki's flamethrowing debut, Ohtani's controversial homer, the Cubs looking flat, and much more. They also talk about where they'd like to see MLB's International Series go next. (Domincan Republic???)
Our Offseason WAR Draft
This episode, Gabe and Kenji are going through the moves of the offseason and drafting a starting lineup (and rotation) by Wins Above Replacement. A bit of nuance to this draft, as we had to dig deep into the offseason moves. We can only draft players who moved teams or moved leagues (NPB to MLB, for example). Tune in and listen to evaluate each squad and who did a better job drafting! Thanks for listening. Only one week until Cubs v Dodgers in Tokyo!
Roki Sasaki Makes His Debut and Gunnar Henderson is in question for Opening Day?
Roki Sasaki makes his long awaited debut, and he sure did not disappoint! His fastball movement stood out to Kenji and his Splitter spin rate was fascinating to Gabe. Plenty of injury notes from across the league as well, with Felix Bautista making his way back from injury, while guys like Luis Gil, Giancarlo Stanton, Gunnar Henderson, Manny Machado, Adolis Garcia, Wyatt Langford, Corbin Carroll and more have all been dealing with either more serious strains or general spring training aches and pains.
Our 2025 Homer Draft
Drafting one player from every team, Kenji and Gabe attempt to fill out a roster with more home runs than the other guy. Each team that is taken is off the board, so by the end of the episode the guys are drafting some pretty obscure players from their respective teams. Full credit to Jomboy Media and Talkin' Baseball for the idea, which we changed slightly. We had a great time doing this, please rate and review us wherever you get your podcasts, and we will see you Thursday!
Shohei Ohtani v Travis Hunter, Yankees News, and Samuel Basallo is the Real Deal
In this episode, Gabe and Kenji briefly touch on the newest news in the world of Major League Baseball. Travis Hunter says he's more impressive of a player than Shohei, and the Yankees are holding their breath on Luis Gil, Cody Bellinger homers, Samuel Basallo goes 500 feet, and the Red Sox Top Prospects continue to hammer the baseball in Spring Training.
Gabe's Predictions for the 2025 MLB Season: Division Winners, Wild Card, and World Series
Now it's Gabe's turn to breakdown his picks for the 2025 MLB Season Standings, with some crazy takes. From the Cincinnati Reds to the Seattle Mariners, he sure took a leap of faith picking them to make it. He gives a full breakdown on why he believes in the 2025 Orioles, and why he thinks the Diamondbacks have a real chance to win a title. Be sure to listen to Kenji's picks from a couple of days ago, and follow the show to stay-up-to-date and be the first to listen to each episode.
