This week is the first week in our summer study on excerpts in the book of Proverbs. If you are familiar with this book of wisdom, you are already aware that is contains a wealth of “one-liners” that we would be wise to live by. And what is true of so many of these proverbs is that every human, whether they believe in God or not, can benefit from following these simple truths. But what sets Proverbs 3 apart from some of the others is that the benefits of wisdom found therein, are predicated on one’s trust in the Lord, acknowledgment and fear of Him, and a resolve to honor Him. These particular actions can only be found in true believers of God. And for believers who are determined to trust, fear, and honor God, the reward will be great and endless.
