In the next 24 hours. Right now we're sitting at 29 degrees. Today climbs to 41 — about 20 degrees above normal for early March. But here's where it gets weird. Cold air slides in this afternoon and temperatures actually drop as the day goes on.
Southern Vermont, you're in for a wild ride. Rain starts after noon, then things get complicated. Between 7 P.M. and 1 A.M., that rain flips to sleet and freezing rain before finally settling into snow overnight. You're looking at 1 to 2 inches by Friday morning. A Winter Weather Advisory kicks in at 5 P.M. Today and runs through noon Friday. If you've got evening plans, move them up or push them back.
