That dusting of snow overnight left us with about four-tenths of an inch. It’s pretty, but watch your step on the porch — freezing drizzle has created some slick spots this morning. Temperatures are sitting in the mid-20s to around 30 degrees, so it feels like winter out there right now.
In the next 24 hours. But the sun is about to rescue us. Expect it to break through by late morning. And once it does, we climb fast. Southern Vermont hits 42 degrees. Central Vermont warms to 47 — that's 20 degrees above normal for early March. Even the Northeast Kingdom gets in on the thaw, topping out at 44. With light winds, it's going to feel genuinely mild this afternoon.
