Good afternoon. Vermont. I'm Aaron Jolly. Folks. Canadian high pressure has muscled in behind last night's cold front. and it brought its A game. Step outside right now and you're feeling about 20 degrees. That's 16 degrees below normal for the first day of March. Northwest winds at 5 to 8 miles an hour make it sting just enough. Sunny skies look gorgeous through the window. but that sunshine is all show, no warmth. In the next 24 hours. Highs today top out around 21 to 22 degrees statewide. Pretty uniform cold from Bennington to Newport. Now tonight is where things get serious. Clear skies and calm winds set up textbook radiational cooling. Southern Vermont drops to minus 9. Central Vermont bottoms out near minus 4. Push into the Northeast Kingdom and you're right back at minus 9. Wind chills near minus 12 up there by midnight. That's frostbite t ...
