Some adventures begin at camp. Others begin where the trail disappears into the mountains.

In this episode of Miles of Impact, Camp Loll Director Jody Orme and Program Director Lafe Conner take us deep into two of Scouting’s most unforgettable backcountry experiences: the Teton Crest Trek and the Tetons to Cascades Trek.

These multi-day backpacking adventures lead Scouts through some of the most breathtaking terrain in the American West. Along the Teton Crest Trail, participants hike beneath towering granite peaks, cross high mountain passes, and experience the rugged beauty of Grand Teton National Park. The Tetons to Cascades Trek pushes the adventure even further—connecting the Tetons to Yellowstone’s wild backcountry and the legendary Cascade Corner of Yellowstone National Park.

Jody and Lafe share what makes these treks so powerful for young people—from learning wilderness skills and navigating bear country to building teamwork, resilience, and confidence with every mile on the trail.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to backpack through some of the most spectacular landscapes in the country while growing as a leader and teammate, this episode will inspire your next adventure.

Because at Camp Loll, the trail isn’t just about where you go—it’s about who you become along the way.
