Season 8 Episode 5: Uncle Simon 1963For 25 years, Barbara Polk (Constance Ford) has endured living with her cruel, highly demanding, and verbally abusive uncle, Simon Polk (Cedric Hardwicke). She tolerates his relentless hostility purely out of greed, waiting for the day he dies so she can inherit his massive fortune.

During an argument near the cellar stairs, Uncle Simon falls and is fatally injured. Rather than helping him or calling for medical assistance, Barbara watches him die, celebrating her newfound freedom and incoming inheritance.

The Twist

Her victory is short-lived. Upon reading the will, Simon's lawyer reveals a strict catch: to receive the fortune, Barbara must live in the house and care for Simon’s final invention—a complex robot.
