Much happened over the weekend. Donald Trump was busy, as was DOGE. This week's focus in Congress is a rush to put together a stop-gap financial measure -- a "Continuing Resolution" -- to keep our government operating. The House has a CR prepared that will keep government spending at the current spending level and will do so through September of next year. Then, the House will complete a new budget. Of course, Democrats are screaming about the proposed CR, claiming it cuts money for Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Veterans' benefits. (You'll hear factually that NONE of those cuts are included in the CR!)
