Fernie grew up in a time of DACA and the dream act, yet his experiences with college were still more complicated and complex than all of his friends. In order to qualify for DACA, Fernie had to jump through hurdles, something that none of us knew undocumented youth have to go through. We learned so much about Fernie's journey and we also got our privileges checked.
We are having meaningful conversations about the difficulties that undocumented youth go through just existing in the United States. This week we sat with Erick and talked about his journey to the US, his dream of going to college, his struggles with DACA, and finding work.
