US pressure was pushed to leadership level, Iran answered at deterrence level, and nothing about this confrontation reset when the strike didn’t come. Right, so the United States has threatened Iran at the level of leadership, talked openly about regime change, hinted at intervention, and then stopped. Not resolved it. Not de-escalated it. Just stopped. The strike didn’t happen, the language didn’t soften, and Iran didn’t blink.
