In their first episode in 2023, Joey and Zach break down how the Celtics performed in the 2023 NBA Playoffs and give their thoughts on the future of the franchise, with a focus on the potential chance of trading Jaylen Brown. After that, they recap what happened in Games 1 and 2 of the NBA Finals and give their thoughts on what will happen in Game 3. Following that, they debate whether or not LeBron James should consider joining Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic in Dallas. Then, they break down their intramural highlights and the best part of Senior Week at Boston College. During this segment, they preview BC football’s 2023 season and offer predictions, before moving on to talking about the promising future of BC basketball.
Season 2, Episode 3 (12/23/22): Christmas Special 2.0 – National Signing Day for BC Football and Incoming/Outgoing Transfers, BC Basketball Upsets Virginia Tech, Celtics’ Recent Struggles, NFL Playoff Predictions
In the second edition of their Christmas Special, Joey and Zach break down what happened on National Signing Day for BC football and update listeners on their incoming/outgoing players in the transfer portal. After that, they move onto talking about BC basketball and praise the program for a huge victory over No. 21 Virginia Tech on Wednesday in their conference home opener. They preview the next few games for BC hoops, including their January 7th showdown against Duke, which Joey and Zach will be commentating on air for WZBC. Following that, they transition to talking about the recent struggles of the Celtics and close the episode with NFL Playoff predictions as the standings currently sit with three games to go.

In this episode, Joey and Zach break down how the BC football season has gone so far and recap what happened in Saturday’s devastating loss to UConn. After that, they provide their predictions for BC’s Friday night home game against Duke. Following that, they move onto talking about the Celtics and how they have performed early in the season, while also exploring the entire landscape of the NBA over the first two weeks of the season. Next, they outline all of the biggest trades across the NFL before the trade deadline on Tuesday. They discuss the Patriots’ quarterback situation and choose a side between Bailey Zappe and Mac Jones. At the end, they praise the Bruins for their hot start to the season, an NHL-best 9-1 record. They provide live updates of Game 4 of the World Series, the Celtics’ showdown against the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Wednesday night MACtion with Bowling Green and Central Michigan earning victories.
Season 2, Episode 1 (10/19/22): Fall Intramural Season Recap, Breakdown of Celtics-Sixers, NBA Season Preview, BC Football Heads to Wake Forest
In their return to the studio for the first time since May, Joey and Zach start their senior campaign strong with a breakdown of their fall intramural season, including highlights from their thrilling 41-7 win in the first round of the flag football bracket. After that, they move onto the Celtics and their opening night victory over the 76ers. They stay on the topic of basketball and preview the NBA season with predictions for sleeper teams along with their Western and Eastern Conference Finals matchups. At the end, they recap how BC football’s season has gone thus far and provide takes for this weekend’s matchup against Wake Forest.
Playbook Week 21 - 5/11/22
Joey and Zach begin their final episode of the semester with analysis of the Celtics-Bucks series, prior to Game 5 in Boston (2:05). After that, Joey updates the audience on how the Bruins-Hurricanes series has unraveled and what is at stake in Thursday night’s Game 6 showdown (14:23). Then, he touches on Stellwagen softball’s recent outing on Monday night (18:28) and the Red Sox’s Monday night victory against the Braves (20:56). He explains why the Sox have been failing to close out games and why the starting pitching has not been the issue. Following that, he provides coverage on Northeastern baseball winning seven of their last eight games, including Tuesday’s huge victory at #13 UConn (28:41). To finish out the episode, Everett High football head coach, Rob DiLoreto, joins the show as a guest to talk about the prestigious and highly regarded program (35:25). He discusses the school’s pipeline to BC with former BC star Lukas Denis and current BC defensive back Jason Maitre leading the charge for two new Everett commits. Coach gives insight into Everett High’s continuous success and what goes into building the top of the line program, from off-season workouts to creating a family culture. At the end, Coach DiLoreto dives into NU Huskies baseball (59:40) and what it has been like to attend every game this season, including his son’s 4-for-5 performance against Hofstra. It was an honor for Joey to have the opportunity to talk with such a standup and admirable individual about Northeastern and the cream of the high school football crop, the Everett Crimson Tide. Playbook Week 20 - 5/4/22
Joey and Zach begin their 22nd episode with a bang by bringing on two of their star teammates, John Dziwura (BC hockey fanatic) and Christian Koutsoubis (Coach K), to recap how the playoffs unfolded in intramural softball. After that, Joey analyzes how Northeastern and BC baseball have performed over the last two weeks and breaks down Stellwagen softball’s nail-biter matchup from Tuesday night against Darcy’s which included a near-miraculous comeback. Then, they discuss the Celtics’ huge bounceback victory last night at home against the Bucks in Game 2 and provide their predictions for the rest of the series. Following that, they offer live coverage of the Bruins-Hurricanes Game 2 showdown and talk about what the Bruins need to do to improve after a tough Game 1 on Monday night in Raleigh. At the end, they highlight how the NFL Draft went for the Patriots and Giants, including players they are excited about seeing on their respective teams (Kayvon Thibodeaux on the Giants and Tyquan Thornton on the Patriots). They talk about where each BC football player that declared for the draft ended up, including stud offensive lineman Zion Johnson who was selected by the LA Chargers with the 17th overall pick.
Playbook Week 19 - 4/27/22
Joey and Zach begin the episode by breaking down the Celtics’ electric sweep of the Brooklyn Nets and give their predictions for the rest of the NBA Playoffs. Secondly, they update everyone on how their season for intramural sports has gone and recap Monday night’s huge softball win in the regular season finale. After that, Joey talks about his full 32-pick first round mock draft for tomorrow night’s NFL Draft (trades not included) and highlights his ideal draft scenario for the New York Giants. Then, Zach gives his 10-pick mock draft and discusses who he would like to see the New England Patriots draft with the 21st pick. Following that, Joey finishes up this episode’s draft coverage with eight draft prospects to keep your eyes on as they could be the steals of the draft. At the end, the sports guru Mike Hurley returns to the show and provides insight into his predictions for the Bruins in the NHL Playoffs, his ultimate Patriots’ draft choice with the 21st pick, the Red Sox late-game struggles, and how he thinks the Celtics could fare against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Joey and Zach begin the episode by covering the Celtics-Nets playoffs series and giving insight into tonight’s Game 3 showdown in Brooklyn. After that, the BC and Boston sports wizard and BC alum Paul from Southie joins the show for a second week in a row as a guest to cover all things sports, from how the Red Sox have looked early in the season, to Jerry York’s retirement, to Marc McLaughlin’s hot start for the Bruins in the NHL, to Earl Grant’s first season as BC’s basketball coach, to Phil Jurkovec and his expectations for BC football this upcoming season, to the NFL Draft and what the Giants need to do with their first round picks in order to help Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley, to the hard play of the LA Clippers, to the clutch play of the Celtics against the Nets, and all the way to BC baseball. Following that, Joey gives his updated mock draft for the top ten picks in Thursday’s NFL Draft. Then, Joey offers live coverage of the Celtics-Nets game and the Red Sox-Rays pitching duel. Next, Joey provides live insight into Northeastern baseball’s evening game against High Point University and BC baseball’s ALS Awareness Game at Fenway Park versus Virginia Tech. He discusses how the last few weeks of the season has gone for both programs and previews their upcoming matchups. At the end, he breaks down Stellwagen softball’s huge Thursday night victory in the Quincy Men’s Softball League over Local 4 and talks about the clutch 10-run 6th inning with play-by-play coverage, and a special postgame press conference with Stellwagen’s ace (1:07:05). To close out the episode, Joey discusses Denver's championship run in the Frozen Four tournament.
Playbook Week 16 - 4/6/22
Joey and Zach begin this week’s episode by recapping the end of both the men’s and women’s March Madness tournaments. After that, they give their predictions for how the NBA playoffs will go for both Celtics and the LA Clippers, and dive into the Bruins’ continuous hot streak. Following that, St. Michael’s College star pitcher Joey Hosea makes his first guest appearance on the show (29:37) and breaks down his strong relief performance from this past weekend at Stonehill. He answers a ton of questions, ranging from his elite breaking ball, all the way to his favorite music to listen to before a game, and what it is like to be on the same team as his brother and phenom rapper Phat Hosea. Next, they talk about the Red Sox and the MLB’s Opening Day, and provide their predictions for this upcoming season, from the MVP Award to their World Series winner. Before the last segment, they analyze how the BC-NU semifinal matchup from the Baseball Beanpot went and preview BC’s finals matchup with UMass. At the end, Joey gives his takes for the Frozen Four semifinals matchups and who he thinks will win the tournament and Hobey Baker Award.
Playbook Week 15 - 3/30/22
Joey and Zach start the episode by breaking down how the Frozen Four tournament has gone so far and discussing the future outlook for Northeastern and AIC hockey after being eliminated in the first round and losing veterans like Jordan Harris and Chris Dodero. They follow that up with highlighting the Celtics’ continuous hot streak and how the absence of Robert Williams could affect the team’s playoff hopes. After that, they talk about how March Madness has gone in both the men’s and women’s tournaments, and provide their predictions for the Final Four games of both brackets. Then, they give insight into BC and Northeastern baseball’s recent performances and preview next week’s Baseball Beanpot matchup between the two teams. After that, they analyze how the Red Sox have looked in Spring Training, including Rafael Devers’ hot streak and Trevor Story’s long-awaited debut.
