Coming Up on today's show I caught up with the great King Elle Noir. In a turbulent year she has emerged as one of LA’s most intriguing new acts, crafting an impressively original sound, while penning hits for stars like Wale, Tommy Lee and the Pussy Cat Dolls, all while defying a fatal disease.
By just 18 King Elle Noir had beaten kidney cancer, run away to Nashville and scored a country hit for Marie Osmond. Sensing even bigger things ahead, she moved to LA, quickly becoming an in-demand songwriter with Saweetie, IV Jay, Itzy, Polow Dadon and many more. In 2017 she received devastating news - a new chronic illness had claimed a kidney and would now have her on dialysis three times a week. This would have broken many artists, but, as she'd proven before, she didn't come this far just to give up.
