How much do I charge for neurotoxins and fillers? | Aesthetic Mentor

The two major options for injectables are neurotoxins and dermal fillers. Neurotoxins are medications that stop muscle movement. When wrinkles occur due to muscle movement, a neurotoxin can weaken the muscle and soften the wrinkle – the frown lines between our eyebrows are a popular location for neurotoxin injections. There are several neurotoxins on the market; all of which have different brand names including Botox, Xeomin, Dysport, and the newest one, Jeuveau. Neurotoxins can be billed in two ways. One is per unit. This means that you and your injector estimate how much neurotoxin you will need, and you pay that amount. The downside is that either the practitioner may underestimate how much you need or you may not have the budget for an adequate treatment. Either of these factors could result in under-treatment. Another way in which neurotoxin treatments can be billed is by treatment area. This means that the patient pays a flat fee, and the provider treats until the desired result is achieved. When should I start Neurotoxins and Fillers? | Aesthetic Mentor

You can start Botox as early as 18 years old but you probably don’t need to. Each patient needs individually assess. For some people, this may mean starting Botox treatment as soon as your early 20s, if you’re prone to wrinkles and want to prevent them from occurring. Preventative Botox works by helping stop younger patients from developing deep wrinkles in the first place, so the wrinkles don’t become deep-set as you age. If you’re in your 30s, it’s likely you’ve already noticed your first lines and wrinkles. Most women won’t develop permanent deep lines and wrinkles until their late 30s so this may be a good time to consider Botox. Botox is designed to limit muscle movement in the areas of the face you use regularly, such as the forehead and between the eyebrows. As the muscles can’t contract, your skin can’t wrinkle as it would if the muscles had a full range of movement.

How BOTOX works? | Aesthetic Mentor Dr Joseph Russo

First of all, Do you know what Is Botox? Botox is a drug that has been using for years to treat wrinkles and facial creases. Botox is a brand name of a toxin made by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. There are other brands, such as Dysport and Xeomin. Botox is the term you hear most often because it was the first injectable botulinum toxin. How Is Botox Used? The most common reason to use Botox is to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles. How Does Botox Work? Botox blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle can't contract. That makes wrinkles relax and soften. Botox is most often used on forehead lines, crow's feet (lines around the eye), and frown lines. How Is a Botox Procedure Done? Getting Botox takes only a few minutes. You won’t need anesthesia. The provider uses a small needle to inject Botox into specific muscles with only minor discomfort. It generally takes 7 to 14 days to take full effect. It’s best to avoid alcohol starting at least 1 week before the procedure. You should also stop taking aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications 2 weeks before treatment to help prevent bruising. How Long Does a Botox Shot Last? The effects of Botox will last 3 to 6 months. As muscle action slowly returns, the lines and wrinkles begin to reappear and need to be treated again. The lines and wrinkles often appear less severe with time because the muscles are shrinking. Some nurses might choose to seek out careers in nonclinical roles for a variety of professional and personal reasons. They could be burned out on clinical nursing, or just prefer a change of pace and an opportunity to sharpen new skills while still using and leveraging their education and experience in nursing. Aesthetic/cosmetic nurses are registered nurses who provide a variety of services. These can include injections of dermal fillers and Botox neurotoxin; photo facials; dermabrasion; micro-needling; tattoo removal; and non-surgical body contouring. These nurses usually work in private offices or medical spas affiliated with plastic surgery practices or cosmetic dermatology practices. Cosmetic nurses provide services to a wide range of patients who are seeking a boost in their appearance and self-confidence.
