Good evening, folks! I'm DJ Huzz. And this is the Maine Weather Podcast for Sunday, February 22nd. A Nor'easter is bearing down on us. And this one means business.
Blizzard warnings are up for the entire coastline. Kittery to Eastport, every mile of it. Snow rolls in Monday morning and the heaviest band hammers Portland between 8 AM and 5 PM. We're talking 9 to 13 inches. Winds screaming at 35 to 50 miles an hour. Whiteout conditions. Zero visibility. If you're thinking about driving Monday evening, don't. Seriously. Your car doesn't want to be out there.
Now push inland toward Augusta and Waterville. Snow starts around 7 AM and piles up 4 to 8 inches. Less wind, but gusts still hit 40 miles an hour. That's enough to send drifts crawling across every back road. Up in Bangor, you're looking at 3 to 7 inches with the same drifting problem.
