Prayer Is More Than What We Say
Christian prayer sometimes falls into two extremes.
From Abstract Prayer to Habitual Prayer
We must learn to pray by praying. At first glance, this sounds paradoxical. Prayer already feels abstract and elusive; to understand prayer through prayer itself seems even more difficult.
Let's talk about prayer today
Prayer is the easiest thing to do. You can pray anytime, anywhere, in any situation—just by closing your eyes. Yet, at the same time, prayer is also one of the most difficult things to do well.
How, Then, Should We Pray?
We must acknowledge that prayer is a difficult lesson to learn. The true purpose of prayer is to encounter God—to hear His teaching, receive His guidance, learn to love Him, and live in accordance with His design. Yet encountering God through what can feel like “talking to oneself” is not easy. As a result, we naturally long for some tangible sense that He is listening.
From Gravity to Grace: The Prayer God Hears
Whenever I read the account of the tax collector’s prayer in Luke 18, I find it deeply thought-provoking, because it reveals the true nature of prayer. The tax collector’s prayer was accepted by God because, with a broken and contrite heart, he cried out for mercy.
Beyond Understanding
The core of the Christian faith is Christ Himself. To know Jesus Christ, to know Him more deeply, and to devote one’s entire life to knowing Him is the key to the transformation of destiny and the restoration of hope.
When Goodness Is Not Enough
When someone displays high moral character, speaks eloquently...
Fearless Confidence, Fruitful Life
People possess various personalities, and everyone is unique. Some are brave, while others are gentle. However, behind every personality, there may exist its opposite side. For instance, bravery can sometimes lead people to be careless and reckless, while gentleness may manifest as cowardice and timidity. It appears rare to find someone who is extremely brave and never reckless, as well as extremely gentle and never timid. The Bible describes Jesus as such a person, or it can be said that believing in Jesus encourages people to aspire to such heights and become such individuals.
Let's talk about prayer today
Prayer is the easiest thing to do. You can pray anytime, anywhere, in any situation—just by closing your eyes. Yet, at the same time, prayer is also one of the most difficult things to do well. That's because human nature doesn’t naturally rely on prayer. At best, we often treat it like making a wish or asking for something we want.
Passover and Communion
Let's go back thousands of years ago, to the night when Jesus first set up Communion. In Matthew 26, Jesus said to his disciples that day, "It’s the Passover in two days, and the Son of Man will be crucified on the cross.” This is the first time that Jesus has clearly connected the Passover with the cross.
