These statutes emphasize a "neighbor-first" culture where human dignity outweighs profit. In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus pulls back the curtain on the afterlife with the story of the Rich Man and Lazarus—showing that how we treat the "Lazarus" at our own gate has eternal consequences. He then challenges His disciples to live with a faith that serves without seeking applause.
