This week we cover the sequel to the best villain redemption movie (at least by Disney), Maleficent, so listen in as we attempt to unpack the themes and messages in this convoluted and confusing follow-up to the best fantasy movie about a goth queen we have covered so far! If you have seen this movie, then you may have questions like, “Why is she called the ‘Mistress of Evil’ even though she renounced her evil ways?” or, “Why would Aurora marry Phillip in a patriarchal society when she’s already a queen in her own right?” or, “Were all of those holocaust references really necessary?” (Spoilers, they weren’t!)
