What are you building your life on? And more broadly, as St John's Lutheran Church and as a part of the body of Christ, what are we building our hope on? The answer is most important when things seem to be falling apart. Personally, when we receive that diagnosis, when the accident happens, Most especially as we face our mortality. Collectively, when the Church loses its influence, when the appetites of the sinful nature are nurtured instead of controlled, when the message of Christ is being replaced all sorts of mythologies. God tells His people to look to the Rock.
