When Christian Friends Don't Listen
One of the most difficult experiences in Christian friendships is feeling unheard. We often expect fellow believers to be compassionate, patient, and willing to listen because Scripture calls us to love one another. Yet even Christians can become distracted, defensive, or quick to offer advice before truly understanding someone's heart.
The Bible reminds us in James 1:19, "Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." Listening is more than remaining silent while someone else talks; it is an act of love, humility, and respect. When Christian friends fail to listen, misunderstandings can grow, hurts can deepen, and relationships may become strained.
