When we reverse this order and place doing before being, our obedience degenerates into performance-driven striving, legalism, and burnout. In the kingdom of God, his doing informs our being, and our being fuels our doing. We live as a family of servant missionaries not to earn the Father’s love, but because we are already securely loved, adopted, and sent.
