In the early morning of October 2nd 1999, in Austin Texas, 75 year old Steven Beard, a self-made millionaire and retired TV media personnel, woke up to agonizing pain. He looked down and saw he was bleeding from his stomach and his guts were in his hand. He was able to make a 911 call and responders took him to the hospital.

The suspect was his wife’s lover.

Was this a crime of an obsessive lover who wanted Steven’s wife and money? Or was this a planned act by Steven’s wife to run off with his money and her lover?
