NASA's space shuttle missions have captured footage of "plasmas" up to a kilometer in size, exhibiting behaviors akin to multicellular organisms over 200 miles above Earth in the thermosphere. These self-illuminated plasmas, which have various shapes (cone, cloud, donut, spherical-cylindrical), appear to be attracted to and possibly "feed" on electromagnetic radiation. They congregate in large numbers, interact with satellites, and have been observed flying towards and descending into thunderstorms.
Analysis of their flight paths shows that they can change direction sharply, exhibit acceleration and deceleration, and even display "hunter-predatory" behavior.
