Caltrans Report - Scott Eades

Scott Eades, the Director of CalTrans District 5, congratulated the commission for appointing Mitch Weiss as the acting executive director, expressing confidence in Weiss’s expertise and looking forward to collaboration. Eades highlighted several ongoing projects in Watsonville:

Highway 129 Pavement Project: Scheduled for construction in late 2025 or early 2026, this project involves grinding and replacing the top layer of the roadway, restriping, upgrading sidewalks for ADA compliance, widening sidewalks in areas, and installing a rapid flashing beacon at Brewington Avenue.
