Good afternoon. Rhode Island. I'm Michael Mosby. Step outside right now and you'll feel that damp chill. 37 degrees with fog hugging the ground. But here's the twist — this is the coldest it'll be all day. By this afternoon, we're soaring to 67 degrees. That's 21 degrees above normal for early March, folks. Spring is making a serious statement. The fog burns off by mid-morning as sunshine takes over. Providence hits 67 around 3 P.M. With light south winds. Down along Narragansett Bay, that ocean influence keeps you cooler — topping out at 54 degrees with mostly sunny skies. Still pleasant, just not the warmth inland sees. Tonight, temperatures drop back to the mid-30s under mostly clear skies. Patchy fog develops again after midnight, especially near the coast.
