Not too long ago, when we thought of AI, most people pictured simple chatbots. These bots lived on websites, answered FAQs, and maybe helped you reset a password. They were helpful, sure — but limited. Everything they said was scripted. They followed decision trees. If you went off-script, they usually broke down or gave you a generic response. They were rule-based, not intelligent.
