David Unites the Nation

When David became king, he did two very important things:

1. He established Jerusalem as the capital city.

2. He brought the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem.

Both of these actions were designed to put God on display and to make Him central to the nation.

David’s Breakthrough occurred because:

1. He inquired of the LORD (Vv.19 & 23)

2. He acted on what he was told (v 25a.) “And David did so, as the LORD commanded him;

3. He acknowledged the Lord for giving him the victory (v 20b.) “The Lord has broken through my enemies before me…”
