For Kenny Neal, born in New Orleans in 1957 to influential harmonica player Raful Neal, that was reality, and it became a master class in Louisiana swamp blues. This episode explores how Neal treated that inherited tradition not as a museum piece but as a toolkit, carrying the slow, humid, tremolo-soaked sound of the bayou to national labels, Broadway, Toronto, Paris and Africa on the way to his 2026 induction into the Blues Hall of Fame.
