In 1 Kings Chapter 16 more crazy transitions of kingship happen in Israel. Elah is the fourth king of divided Israel, and the second king of the second dynasty. He is assassinated while drunk by Zimri, who becomes the fifth king of divided Israel, and the first king of the third dynasty. He only reigned a week, but in that time he completely killed the whole house of Elah of Bashan.

His was the shortest reign, and the shortest dynasty. Omri beseiges Tirzah, and Zimri commits suicide, so Omri is the sixth king, and the first king of the fourth dynasty.
