In Exodus 37 we have a showing, rather than a telling of the meticulous obedience to what God said. This is the reason why the information about the building of the tabernacle and its furnishings is repeated here.

The repetition however isn’t exactly the same. It’s second telling demonstrates that what God said, was done in the manner in which he said, and to the level of detail that he requested. Even though we don’t live under legalism, we do learn here that obeying the Lord properly always remains important. We live however by the Holy Spirit’s guidance, and so we apply the same diligence to the instruction of God in our lives today, as the children of Israel did at that time.
