The “Kansas City Butcher” is a nickname given to Robert Berdella, an American serial killer active in Kansas City during the 1980s.

He kidnapped, tortured, and murdered at least six young men between 1984 and 1987. Berdella kept his victims captive for extended periods and subjected them to extreme abuse before killing them. He earned the nickname “Kansas City Butcher” because he dismembered victims’ bodies and disposed of the remains.

He was arrested in 1988, pleaded guilty to multiple murders, and was sentenced to life in prison, where he later died in 1992.
