Our emotions are the greatest storytellers - they tell us stories of despair, anger, bitterness; remind us of the moments where we have felt less somehow, suppressed, taken advantage of - where we have not felt seen or heard - where we have not been able to or allowed to speak our truth.And yet we ignore these difficult emotions or categorise them as BAD - we suppress them because it is THE HARDEST THING TO LISTEN TO OUR OWN STORIES of pain - it is HARD - and so we run - we shut down, disconnect, avoid, or over-express - either way we shut down our systems to DEFEND ourselves against difficult emotions and those SHUT DOWN defence mechanisms come up as physical dis-ease: anxiety, ADHD, migraines, depression, addiction, insomnia, weight gain, weight loss, heart disease, liver damage, blood pressure, diabetes - all of these are REPRESSED STORIES OF ...
