Episode #12: Protect Democracy Or Obstruct Freedom

One of the most important stories around the world no one is talking about or even heard of! The conflict in Myanmar, formerly known nas Burma, has been exponentially digressing since the beginning of the military coup in February 2021. Burma has a history of military occupation, which is the reason behind their historic neglect of their largest industries and infrastructure. After a democratic shift in the late 90's early 2000's there were significant changes in the country and it looked like a bright democratic future for the country. In February 2021, certain military leaders orchestrated a political coup alleging voter fraud in the preceding democratic elections. They then systematically arrested and tortured the leaders of the democratic leading political party [The National League for Democracy] and arrested Aung San Suu Kyi the de facto leader of the party and the country. Episode #11: Separate & Unequal Series: Israel Pt. 1

A long-awaited conversation has finally begun to take place. This week we start talking about Palestine and Israel, specifically, the historical context of the region. We provide historical data on who conquered who and who actually came first. This week is only a timeline of events that occurred between 2000 B.C. and 2000 A.D. resulting in a change in power of who held Mount Zion and Jerusalem. It is a long-standing debate for which we try to clear up some of the common myths and misconceptions. Listen to this episode to get a firm understanding of the region in historical conflict. Episode #9: The United Police of America

Did Derrick Chauvin follow protocol before the knee? Before an official local police force was formed, local guards used to be either a hired militia by which ever entity ruled over a region, senate, monarchs, or oligarch; OR a collective of local, usually armed, people who felt a need to protect their neighborhoods. The first official metropolitan police station was established in 1829 in England by Sir Robert Peel. The century-old marker of civilized society, security (and the organizations society establishes to enforce that security), eventually evolved into the local and federal policing organizations that each country has. The conversation on policing is indeed a global topic, since most protocol and processes are quite similar across the map. But we focused on the US, specifically the circumstances in and around the unlawful death of George Floyd. This week we discuss the state of policing in our country and the implications of emerging excessive force trends in urban communities. As long as humans have walked the earth, we have questioned our creation and whether there is an almighty, omnipotent creator behind it. Pantheism & the Baha'i Faith are examples of belief systems that try to place a logical answer to incredibly complex and mysterious beginning. Is organized religion the only answer to the meaning of life and defining a creator? Join us this week, as we embark on a philosophical walk-about to once again try to attempt to answer an age old question; who is god?

This week we talk about "Cointelpro" and the implications of the existence of this program on what it means to vocalize one's opinion in a politically charged global climate. We discuss the 2021 Academy Award nominated movie Judas & the Black Messiah.The film is a biographical portrayal of the events surrounding the death of Fred Hampton the charismatic leader of the Black Panther Party. We highlight parts of the movie that show us the role certain federal agencies played in the dismantling of what was once an intellectual movement. Cointelpro is a program manufactured by the FBI, which lists procedures for how to break dissent in organized groups of people deemed to be a divergent voice from the status quo. The practices listed in the program documents - which can be found on the FBI's vault [link below] - are painstakingly similar to how governments around the world shut down protests through infiltration, misguidance, and other disruptive tactics. Episode #5: The Sound of Music

It's incredible the level of influence that music has in our lives. We usually take for granted, and overlook the role that music plays in our existence. From when we were kids, the people who were responsible for raising us, imparted their own tastes unto us. They shared with us how to live and deal with certain emotions, all through their choice of music. As we grew, our curiosities led us to finding more and more music, and the more we looked the more we found. We found that music has been a form of expression dating back centuries. Historically, wherever we found a collective group of people, we also found a collective of ideologies all expressed through what else, music. As our own tastes and preferences in music evolved, so did we. This week the boys talk about three of the songs they've been influenced by in their lives. These songs in some cases changed the way they thought about or looked at something or even invoked a substantial emotional response.
