Underdressed
From the depths of despair, the psalmist cries out to a God who not only hears but forgives, because if God kept a record of sins, no one could stand. We don't get right with God by cleaning ourselves up, but by trusting Jesus, who takes our filthy garment and gives us His own righteousness. Put your hope in the Lord, not in yourself, He Himself redeems. Pray to receive that redemption, then tell someone.
When Following God Doesn’t Feel Worth It
Have you ever looked at someone else’s life and wondered why following God seems harder than ignoring Him? In Psalm 73, Asaph nearly loses his footing when comparison causes him to question God’s goodness. But everything changes when he enters God’s presence and begins to see clearly again. In this message, we’ll discover how comparison steals our joy, distorts our perspective, and makes us forget what we already have—and why drawing near to God and practicing gratitude can restore our hearts.
Praise Party
We are called to worship God with joy and gladness. But what does that look like? What if we don’t like to sing? What if we don’t feel joy or gladness? In this message, we’ll take a look at an ancient Hebrew song of praise to help us learn how to worship God with our full hearts.
Psalm 51: Repentance & Redemption
Where do you turn when crippled by the weight of sin? Psalm 51 is the confession of a man who recognized the impact of his evil. This heartfelt prayer shows what it means to be repentant and offers the hope of redemption.
Though the Earth Give Way
God is our refuge and strength, the one who is with us in the midst of our chaos, and we can trust in him!
Honest to God
We’ve all felt it, pain we can’t fix, silence we can’t explain. This week we look at how David responds when life falls apart: he turns to God, pleads with Him, and still finds a way to trust and praise. Lament isn’t a lack of faith, it’s one of the most faithful things you can do. Bring your honest pain to God, and find out He can handle it.
Hearing God’s Voice
The Bible is full of people who hear God speaking to them, but maybe you’ve never heard God’s voice. How do we know God exists when He doesn’t make Himself more clear? How can we follow a God we can’t see? How can we believe, unless we hear God speaking? Does God still speak to us today? That’s what we’ll explore in this message.
Something Worth Fighting For
Psalm 133 shows us God’s intended and flourishing design for his people–to be a united family who shares in the blessings of the Father.
Turn Up the Right Voice
Life can get loud. Fear, anxiety, uncertainty, and circumstances all compete for our attention. In Psalm 121, we're reminded that our help doesn't come from the things around us, but from the God who watches over us, goes before us, and never leaves us. When life gets loud, lift your eyes higher.
Are We Known For Love?
Everyone wants to be part of a church that is known for its love. When life is hard, we want to be part of a community of Christians that is there for us in our struggles, and helps us in our need. But to have that kind of church, we need to be that kind of church. What kind of church will Northridge be? And what kind of Christian will you be? In this message, we’ll look at practical ways that the love of God may overflow through us.
