Good evening! I'm Aaron Jolly. And this is the North Carolina Weather Podcast for Sunday, February 22nd. Folks, our state is running two completely different weather movies tonight. The mountains are getting hammered with snow. The coast is flooding. And the Triangle? Caught somewhere in between with sideways wind. Let's start up in the high country. Winter Storm Warnings cover Avery and Mitchell Counties through Monday night. Beech Mountain and Grandfather Mountain could see 8 to 12 inches of snow by 9 AM tomorrow. Wind gusts hit 60 miles an hour up there. Tonight's lows drop to 18 degrees, but wind chills? Near zero. That's frostbite territory. If you're anywhere above 3,500 feet, stay put. Pack blankets and a flashlight if you absolutely must drive. Now swing east to the coast. Coastal Flood Advisories are up from Kitty Hawk to Ocracoke. One t ...
