Rain is the main character today, and it's not being subtle about it. Here's the deal. Down in the Piedmont, you're hitting 62 degrees. Sounds lovely, right? But showers are likely all afternoon. Two out of three chances you get wet. Winds are barely a whisper at 3 miles an hour, so at least your umbrella won't turn inside out. Tonight things calm down. Lows settle into the upper 40s. Over in the Triangle, same script with even more rain. Showers are likely here too. Highs reach 60 degrees with a gentle west breeze at 2 miles an hour. By tonight the rain eases off.
