Today’s reading takes us to Hebrews 2, where we are warned not to drift from the greatness of salvation. Drifting does not usually happen because we violently reject the gospel; it happens when we stop paying close attention and stop being amazed by what Christ has done. This salvation is too great to become ordinary.

Hebrews 2 reminds us that Jesus stepped into humanity, tasted death by grace, and entered the battle to destroy death and its master. In Genesis 3, the serpent brought death; in Genesis 4, Cain spread death; but in Hebrews 2, Jesus enters death to break its power and bring His brothers home. S ...
