Step outside right now and you're at 35 degrees. Feels crisp. But here's the thing. That chill won't last. We're about to see a wild warm-up.
Deep southwest winds are pumping warmth into the state today. By mid-afternoon, most of us hit the mid-60s. Southern New Hampshire climbs to 66 degrees. Central areas match that. Even the White Mountains reach 65 degrees. That's more than 20 degrees above normal for early March — the kind of heat that melts snowpack fast and makes you question your winter coat choices.
South winds gust to 30 miles an hour through the afternoon, helping stir that mild air down to the surface. Tonight stays mild too. Lows only drop to the low 30s statewide under mostly clear skies.
