Born in Compton, California, and later shaping his life in the Inland Empire’s Etiwanda, Dontae Wood’s path is a blend of hustle, passion, and self-discovery. Growing up, basketball and skateboarding were key to his identity, but it was fashion that ultimately called to him. After F.I.D.M. introduced fashion programs to his high school, Dontae took the leap and launched Chapa Nyeusi, his luxury streetwear brand, in 2020 amidst the pandemic.

Driven by a relentless pursuit of knowledge, Dontae went on to study psychology, psychoanalytics, and public health behavioral change at Yale University. His quest didn’t stop with academics. He completed a Life Coach certification at Transformation Academy, diving deep into Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), astrology, and ancient theology.
