That light rain you heard overnight? Just a teaser. We picked up eight-hundredths of an inch. And now the atmosphere is loading up for a much wetter day. Temperatures held remarkably mild overnight — only dropped to 47 degrees under those thick clouds.
In the next 24 hours. Here's the story today. Western Missouri sits on the quieter edge of this system. Expect drizzle and patchy fog through the day with a high near 53 degrees. Nothing dramatic, just a gray, damp kind of day.
Head east toward St. Louis and things get interesting. Thunderstorms are likely — a 90 percent chance, peaking around 2 P.M. Highs climb to 62 degrees with that soupy southeast flow.
