In But here's thing, once that fog clears, we've got bigger problems rolling in.
Severe weather is bearing down this afternoon. A shortwave trough diving southeast is bringing the perfect storm ingredients — unstable air, strong wind shear, steep lapse rates. Translation? Organized thunderstorms with attitude. Up north, storms fire up around midday and march east through the afternoon. We're talking damaging winds and large hail — golf ball size or bigger.
