In this message, “Heaven: The Dwelling Place of God and the Hope of the Believer,” we are reminded that heaven is not a religious idea, a comforting myth, or an uncertain hope. Heaven is a real, eternal place prepared by God for those who have trusted Jesus Christ as Savior.

The Bible teaches that heaven is the dwelling place of God, the home of His angels, and the place where the redeemed saints of God live in His presence. When a saved person dies, he or she goes immediately into the presence of the Lord. At death, the human spirit leaves the body and enters either heaven or hell. The account of the rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16 shows that both are real places and that there is conscious existence after death.
