John the Baptist comes on the scene baptizing people and preparing them for the Savior who is coming. But he quickly tells his listeners that the Savior who is coming has an even BETTER baptism: the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Jesus alone is the one who can immerse us and cover us and fill us in the Holy Spirit, and that baptism is what seals us for the day of redemption. This great gift helps deepen our assurance and open our hearts in a way that causes streams of living water to now even flow from us as we overflow with the Spirit.
