Jesus unveils His public ministry at a wedding. At this wedding, He famously turns water into wine. But why? This water was used by the Jews for ritual cleansing, and as Jesus asks them to fill these jars (about 180 gallons worth!) to the brim, He changes it into the best wine anyone has tasted!   In our lives, we live off of performancism and reward, whether it is in our jobs, schools, and most of our relationships. But God is different. We can fill our lives to the brim with good deeds, religious activity, and good intentions, but something more is needed. Something that only Jesus can do, and that is transform our hearts and make us alive and cleansed on the inside, not just on the outside.
