Dr. Valerie F. Hunt (Dr. Beloved) is the daughter of Elder Merdie Hunt and Beloved Ancestor Richard Hunt. Dr. Hunt is a scholar, activist, mentor, teacher, poet, artist, and healer whose primary applied research and practice is in transforming racial inequities by way of Building Beloved Community(ies) of Liberation and Emancipation. Dr. Hunt considers her work as that of Harriet Tubman, for the liberation of Black people throughout the Diaspora through education of who we are, our history, and our connections with one another.
